The only online marketplace run by a non-profit that provides services to both individuals and other non-profits.
The Alara Advocacy Foundation was established to provide services to people with disabilities, older adults and people from disadvantaged backgrounds. To provide these services, we rely on donations and partnerships with other non-profit organizations. We also established Alarket, Alara’s Non-Profit Marketplace.
Are you someone who loves shopping for a cause? Beginning on February 6, 2010 you may begin to purchase gifts in our marketplace. Know that all of the proceeds are going to a non-profit organization, whether it Alara or another.
Are you a non-profit that wants to sell goods online, but don’t have the capital or experienced volunteers? For a low fee of $10/month for 200 items, you can begin to sell online knowing that you are providing services to people who need them. The proceeds from your items (minus a 5% transaction fee) are sent to you each month.
Not yet tax exempt? That’s ok. Just send us a copy of your endorsed Articles of Incorporation and EIN via fax or email and start selling within 2 days! Perfect for school groups who wish to raise money online by holding auctions or selling donated items.
Are you an individual who wants to sell online and likes knowing that your membership helps to fund services for older adults, people with disabilities, people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and non-profits from around the world? Sell with us! For $5/month, you may sell up to 100 items in our marketplace. We charge a 5% processing fee per item.
Perhaps you're a small business that wants to sell goods and services online, and want to know that your shop helps fund the work of a non-profit organization. For $15/month, you may sell up to 200 items in our marketplace. We charge a 5% processing fee per item.

What do you sell?
We sell everything, including ebooks and music downloads.
What if I want to sell more than the specified amount of items?
For an added fee, we definitely make exceptions. Just contact us and we will work something out.
What is the process?
Currently, we accept listings via email. We then upload photos of the items, a description, website of the non-profit and a description of its services. For individuals, we accept listings via email. All 3rd party sellers are required to mail items themselves. If they require warehousing of smaller items, there is an added fee.
What about advertising? How will people find our goods?
We cross sell on eBay, Yahoo!Shopping, Shopzilla, Amazon's Marketplace, use online ads in popular search engines and on sites, and other avenues for advertising. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter (profiles open to the public February 2010).
Is there recurring billing?
For now, we suggest that you start with a one month membership to see if you enjoy selling with us. If you wish to sell longer, contact us and we will set up recurring billing or you will be able to purchase various packages in our marketplace.
